Class of 2022 Graduating Seniors

Bren Mar Park Elementary is hosting a Grad Walk this year and invites our former students who are graduating seniors in the Class of 2022 to participate.

Come back to where it all began, walk the halls of Bren Mar Park one last time and let the little Mustangs cheer you onto your next adventure! (Also, a nice photo opportunity in your Cap and Gown. Parents are welcome.)

Grad Walk will take place on Wednesday, June 1 at 3:30 p.m.

Please RSVP with this Google Form RSVP. If you have any additional questions, email our Family Liaison, Sandra Chetelat, sfchetelat@fcps.edu

BMP Health & Safety Reminders

As we begin the last quarter of the school year, we remind families:

  - For the safety of all children, please be sure to bring a photo ID when picking up your child from school; only individuals on the emergency care card with photo ID may check a child out from school

  - For the safety of children with allergies, please consider non-food items such as pencils, small gift items, or a book donation to the classroom; food-based birthday treats are not to be brought to school

  - For the health and safety of all children, please leave animals at home when walking to school or keep any pets on public sidewalks; dogs may not be brought onto school grounds

  - For the safe flow of traffic, families who drive to school should use the Kiss & Ride lanes and follow the traffic patterns; please do not drive around cars or use handicap or other parking spaces as pick up/drop off locations

We appreciate your support in helping Bren Mar Park be a safe and respectful place for all of our students and community members!

Ways to Help Your Child at Home

All kids experience big feelings at one time or another. They may look to the adults in their lives for comfort and help with working through those feelings. If you’re looking for some alternatives to the phrase “Calm down”, here are some ideas to try!

  • Let’s take a deep breath together.
  • I see that you’re having a difficult time, let me help you!
  • If you are feeling sad, you can tell me about it.
  • That can be so frustrating, let’s figure this out together!
  • Want to squeeze my hand?

Specialist Spotlight: BAND

Bren Mar Park Band students have been very busy.  We had our first live concert in three years on April 20 and the students did an amazing job.  A special thank you to Mrs. Williams playing an amazing Aunt Rhodie in “Aunt Rhodie’s Appetite” , Ms. Clarke playing the Old Gray Goose, and Yedidya Abraham, 5th grade student, playing the French Chef.  It was a fun way to play all the popular beginning band songs in our book and put it to a skit.

A special congratulations to Brett Patterson, flute student, who achieved a superior rating on his solo “Springtime Waltz” at the District Solo and Ensemble Festival at Holmes Middle School on April 30th.

Current fourth grade students and parents, want to be a part of the band next year?  Watch out for a sign up link coming soon.

Thank you!

Bren Mar Park's Little Free Library

How Does This Library Work?

Our Bren Mar Park Little Free Library has recently been restocked. We wanted to take the opportunity to remind everyone  how it works and invite our community members to use it.

The BMP Little Free Library offers a way to share books to read at no cost to our community. All of us can help by keeping the Little Free Library stocked with reading material.

Whose Library is this? It belongs to everybody! Anyone can use it. That’s why we want to take care of it.

1. Take a book. If you see something you’d like to read, take it.

2. Share a book. After you’ve read it,  bring it back here, or bring another book you no longer need to add to our little free library.
