What a wonderful community event this past Friday evening. The cafeteria and blacktop were packed with students, staff and families having a great time. A special thank you to our PTA officers, program chairs and staff, parent and student volunteers for making the event a success!
If your family enjoyed the Spring Carnival, know that the PTA would love to have your help with future events especially as we roll into Teacher Appreciate Week and on into the next school year. Opportunities are coming available for officer positions and program chair roles. If that is a little too much for your plate, consider becoming a PTA member and just volunteering for an event or two. Every little bit helps our PTA serve our fantastic Fort Hunt Fox community.
Starting tomorrow, we begin the end of year SOL testing window for grades 3-6. Different grades will test in different subjects at different times during the testing window. Students will be demonstrating what they have learned through grade level state SOL tests and we ask you to simply encourage your child to do their best and not to worry or stress. You can help by making sure your child gets a good night sleep the night before and eats breakfast. Although testing is important, please remind your child that tests don’t measure kindness, empathy, humor, or courage. Children should try their best! The testing window concludes at the end of May.
Lastly, stay tuned for information on two upcoming COVID vaccine, “during the school day,” clinics hosted here at Fort Hunt three weeks apart: “Dose one” clinic in mid-May and “dose two” clinic the beginning of June. This is only for parents who want their child vaccinated and completed parent consent forms will be required. Forms and more info to come!
