Twain Theatre’s Spring Musical

Don’t Miss Twain Theatre’s Spring Musical – Dear Edwina Jr. by Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler on April 29, April 30, and May 1!  You can purchase your tickets in advanced online or at the door before the performance (while they last)!

Performances are:

April 29 - 7:00 pm

April 30 - 2:00 and 7:00 pm

May 1 - 2:00 pm

PTA Updates

Show Your Appreciation to our Gold Medal Twain Staffers

Say thank you to teachers and staff for an amazing year at Twain Middle School during Appreciation Week (May 2 to 6).

The PTA helps to coordinate giving gift cards. You can donate to the PTA online by selecting either the $15 or $25 Staff Appreciation item. The PTA will purchase the gift cards and distribute them on Monday, May 2.

We also need volunteers to staff the appreciation week events or donate “goodies.” Sign up here.

Spring Picture Day

Spring Picture Day is almost here! Twain Spring pictures will be taken on April 26 and 27. Parent volunteers are needed to assist.  Duties include helping check students in, ensuring that students have the correct forms and making sure lines move smoothly. Your help is greatly appreciated! Become a PTA Officer for the 2022-23 School Year

The current PTA executive officers will NOT be returning next year. We need volunteers to take on the following positions:

  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Volunteer Coordinator

Next PTA Meeting

Join us for our next PTA meeting on April 26, from 7 to 8 pm via Zoom. All 2021-22 PTA members (i.e., those who have paid dues) will automatically receive the Zoom link for all PTA meetings.


SOL Test Retake Permission

The Virginia Board of Education allows elementary and middle school students who fail Standards of Learning (SOL) tests by a narrow margin to retake the test before the end of the school year. Retesting is available when a student fails their first attempt with a score of 375-399 (400 is passing).

Parent permission is required for any retests in grades 3-8. If you believe that your student would benefit from a second opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills on the SOL test, please complete this permission form. A decision not to allow retesting will not impact your student’s course grade or academic record.
