Purple Up! for Military Kids

purple up

Did you know that more than 14,000 military-connected youth call FCPS home? Join FCPS in celebrating them during April, the Month of the Military Child. At Oak Hill, we will celebrate Purple Up! Day this Friday, April 15th, when all are encouraged to wear purple in recognition of the strength and sacrifices of military-connected youth. Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, a combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, and Navy blue. At Oak Hill ES, we are so grateful for the service of our military community.  Please consider wearing something purple this Friday, April 15th.

President
First Vice President
Second Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary

Teacher of the Year Award

Northern Virginia magazine established the Northern Virginia Teacher of the Year Award to recognize the very best educators in our region, and we need your help finding who those top teachers are. Anyone may submit a nomination for a great teacher.  Nominations are due by April 24.  Please follow this link to find out more.

Staff Appreciation Week

Staff Appreciation Week at Oak Hill Elementary is quickly approaching, May 2-6, 2022!  We have a great week of festivities planned that is sure to let our teachers and staff feel valued and appreciated.

VOLUNTARY MONETARY CONTRIBUTIONS

  • We are taking a slightly different approach this year and rather than asking parents to just contribute supplies, we are asking for monetary donations to cover the costs of the week-long festivities. It's a quick and easy way for you to let the teachers and staff know how much you appreciate all that they do for your children.
  • We are accepting voluntary donations up until May 2, 2022. Donations may be made on our PTA website.  A donation of $10 per student is suggested, but any amount is welcome. For more information about how to make a monetary donation, please click on this link: https://oakhillpta.ptboard.com/formvw?store=2517&form=7

VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME

If you are interested in volunteering your time to help set-up and execute the planned festivities,  please check Wolf News in mid-April for a sign-up link.
