Family Engagement Survey Closes April 3
FCPS is partnering with independent firm K12 Insight to administer a Family Engagement Survey.
Results will be used to develop a plan to improve family and school partnerships throughout the division. The survey is available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Arabic, Chinese, Urdu, Farsi, Amharic, and Pashto. For more information click on the link below.

Kindergarten Walking Tour
Friday, April 1 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
This is an in-person event and to help promote social distancing, please plan on arriving at the following times:
- 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. Student Last Names beginning with A - M
- 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. Student Last Names beginning with N - Z
This will be a chance for families to take a self-paced walking tour to meet our GBW staff in person and to take a quick inside tour of our school.
Our GBW staff is looking forward to meeting each of your children, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our GBW family.

If you do not have a rising Kindergartener but know of someone who does, (and lives in the GBW boundary) please feel free to forward this information to them.
Did you know that 5% of the food that feeds children in our area comes from food drives just like ours? Our food drive is very important in our community and helps to feed children in the area!
As a result, we are very proud of our student participation in the Leadership Team Food Drive, which is taking place from April 11 to May 13. All donations will be delivered to the Western Fairfax Christian Ministries, a local outreach center that manages a food pantry for the local Fairfax community. They are incredibly appreciative of the work we are doing and would like GBW to know how much our commitment to servicing the community makes a difference in the lives of others. Donations must be non-perishable food and no glass. Our goal is to reach 1000 items!

6. Calling all Artists and Designers: FCPS Schoology Design Challenge

Create a design to fill the big blue field on the Schoology login page.
All FCPS students in grades PreK-12 are eligible to submit. Students may submit more than one design.
Artists may work collaboratively and submit their collective work as a group or they may choose to work and submit individually.

Fundraising Update
The PTA is pleased to announce that we raised $320 from our Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night last week and $8,660.25 from Read-A-Thon last month! All proceeds will go towards supporting school improvements and funding future events. For more budget information updates, please attend our next PTA meeting on Apr. 21, 2022.
Seeking New PTA Board Members for 2022-23!
Want to get more involved as a leader in our school community next year? Join the GBW PTA Executive Board! The GBW Parent Teacher Association is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the educational success and overall wellness of every child at Greenbriar West by encouraging strong parent, family, and community involvement Positions available next year are:
- President
- President-Elect (to shadow one or two years and automatically assume the office of President)
- Vice President, Membership and Communications
- Vice President, Fundraising
- Secretary
- Treasurer
PTA Board Nominees for 2022-23 will be accepted until April 20, 2022, presented at the April 21 PTA Meeting, and elected at the May 26 PTA Meeting (additional Board nominations may be made from the floor at that time!)
