Principal's Message

Dear Shrevewood Families,

Today is the end of the 3nd quarter and a two-hour early release. Shrevewood's dismissal time is 2:05 pm today. There is no school for students tomorrow for the Teacher Workday. All schools and the Shrevewood main office are also closed for Spring Break, April 4-8. We will see our students on Monday, April 11 for the beginning of the 4th quarter.

We encourage our families and students to disconnect from school and technology during spring break next week. As we have done with previous breaks, no work will be due, and no assessments will occur the first two full days back to school. We hope you are all able to take this time to connect as a family and are able to have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous Spring Break!

Joshua DeSmyter, Principal

Susie Lilburn, Assistant Principal

Read- A- Thon Update

Shrevewood families, you are amazing. We have raised a FANTASTIC total of $23,173.  Filling our Georges Marvelous Medicine Saucepan totalizer in school!  The fundraising site is open until the 1st April for any last minute donations.  (Student pledge prizes are still available).

We had lots of competitions over the two weeks for fundraising and also reading!  In total there were 124 fidget spinners, 88 ice cream vouchers, 50 Golden Tickets (10 free PTA bingo tickets) and 3 bingo caller winners.

Ms Strickland's 1st Grade Class won the weekend fundraising challenge.

Mr Hearin's 2nd Grade Class won the READ-O point Class challenge.

Both of these classes win a half day teaching by Mr DeSmyter or Ms Lilburn.

6th Grade won the overall Grade point challenge winning a DeSmyter Bar of chocolate.

All students who submitted a READ-O line were entered into a grade competition to win a stuffed animal.

Winners were: Nathan S - Kindergarten, Maryn B - 1st Grade, Kayla A - 2nd Grade, Hank W - 3rd Grade, Kirin H - 4th Grade, Anushka T - 5th Grade and Miles V - 6th Grade.

There were also 5 lucky GOLDEN TICKET WINNERS

Brooke A - 5th Grade, Dominic D - 4th Grade, James H - 6th Grade, Annabel W - 2nd Grade and Elias F - 3rd Grade.

Students read over 1200 hours (7 weeks worth) during the twelve days!

Thank you again to all students and families involved.

Happy Reading, Shrevewood!
