Dear Wakefield Forest Families,
We hope you enjoyed a restful spring break. As we start the fourth quarter, things will begin to move very quickly. We are looking forward to all of the fun activities and events this spring. Upcoming events include the Woodson Pyramid Art Show on April 19, the Band/Strings Concert on April 20, and the Earth Day after-school clean up on April 22.
On Monday, May 23, 2022 we will have our senior grad walk. This is when seniors who attended Wakefield Forest ES will have the opportunity to walk the hallways and be cheered on by our current students. If you follow me on Twitter, @wakefieldforest and @sbprindle, I often use the hashtag #alwaysapartofthepack . We are so proud of former students’ hard work in reaching this milestone accomplishment. Seniors should meet outside near the front entrance in their cap and gown. Parents of graduating seniors are welcome as well.

Ramadan 2022 |
Ramadan Mubarak to those in our Wakefield Forest community who celebrate! Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year, a time for spiritual discipline for Muslims, who believe it was during this month that God revealed the first verses of the Quran to Mohammed.

Purple Up! for Military Kids on Friday, April 15 |
Did you know that more than 14,000 military-connected youth call FCPS home? Join FCPS in celebrating them during Month of the Military Child. On Friday, April 15, we encourage everyone to wear purple in recognition of the strength and sacrifices of military-connected youth. Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, a combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, and Navy blue.

Reminder: Level IV AAP Night is April 13 |
Wakefield Forest will hold a Level IV AAP information night this Wednesday, April 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the Library. Please note that this evening is not for students.

Retrieve Lost and Found Items by this Friday! |
Once again, we have collected a variety of items in our Lost and Found. We've moved the items to the lobby; you are welcome to come look for that missing sweatshirt, jacket, or water bottle any time this week between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Any items not claimed by the end of the day on Friday, April 15 will be donated.

In Search of SOL Hall Monitors |
Have you been looking for an opportunity to catch up on your work or reading? We're looking for volunteers to serve as hall monitors for SOL testing in late April and May. Please click here to learn more.

School Clean Up on Friday, April 22 |
In honor of Earth Day, on Friday, April 22, from 4:15 to 5:15 pm, the WFES SCA is hosting an after-school clean up event. WFES families are invited to participate in the clean up (pick up trash and leaves, pull weeds). WFES will provide bags but please consider bringing your own garden tools and gloves.
Please note that this is not a drop off event. More information will be coming home in an upcoming Thursday folder flyer.
