Free Online Tutoring

We are excited to share a new resource that will soon be available to all Halley ES students to support learning. All FCPS students will have unlimited access to online tutoring support services through Tutor.com at no cost.

Students can connect online any time, and in most subjects for as long as they need. Tutoring is focused instruction provided to students in a one-on-one format through voice or text chat. Tutors will focus on developing students’ strengths and capabilities in reading, mathematics, or other specified subjects. Tutoring services may be accessed before, during, or after school hours and/or on weekends through a link in Schoology.

All tutors must pass a rigorous application process including an extensive background check. No personal information is shared between a student and tutor. All sessions are recorded and transcripts are available for review by teachers and parents/guardians.

Students will automatically have access to the Tutor.com tutoring service unless a parent/guardian submits an opt-out request

Online Tutoring Services Notice & Opt-Out Forms must be returned by April 11 to opt-out.

Here is the digital link which goes directly to SIS

Student Dress Code Reminder

As it looks like the weather is warming up, we want to remind our Halley families to ensure your students are wearing school appropriate clothing. Shirts with sleeves are recommended. Halter, tank, crop tops, and thin-strapped tops are not permitted. Sleeveless athletic jerseys without a t-shirt underneath are not permitted. Pants and shorts need to fit snuggly at the waist. Mid-thigh length or longer shorts and skirts are appropriate for school.

If clothes are in violation of the dress code, parents will be notified and students will be asked to change their clothes. Tops and bottoms must overlap at all times, including when arms are raised. Hats, caps, hoods, and other headwear may not be worn during the school day.

Students need to be aware of shoes on their feet as well. Due to safety reasons, flip flops are not appropriate for students to wear to school.  It is encouraged that students wear shoes they can run and play in safely.  Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students safe!
