6.  Recent Student Successes

This is the next installment for the school year of what has become a weekly segment aimed at recognizing students for demonstrating recent improvement or achievement in academics, behavior or citizenship. At the end of each recognition, you will see the name of the nominating teacher or staff member. On a rotating basis, departments will nominate students.  I meet with recognized students each week to congratulate them in person.

  • Jose Diaz Argueta has worked hard all year in World History class. He contributes to classroom discussions and participates in all activities. He is willing to take academic risks in class, which encourages others to do the same. And he crushed his last geography test - his hard work and preparation really paid off!  Ms. Angie Rollet
  • Yenifer Lagos Velasquez is crushing it in Biology! She leads by example and offers help to students sitting near her. She is always quick to raise her hand to answer a question. She's found a good balance between knowing when it's time to focus and study, and when it's time to smile and have fun. She's a great role model for many in our class.  Ms. Anne Crismon
  • Linda Lemus DeLeon works very hard every day she comes to class. She is an absolute pleasure in the classroom.  Mr. Corey Porter
  • Sara Lisenby received a perfect 1000 score on the Microsoft Word Office Specialist Certification. She also passed the Microsoft PowerPoint Office Specialist Certification earlier in the school year. Her attention to detail and effort when learning new software is always refreshing to see as a Business Teacher. Keep up the great work!  Mr. Scott Loube
  • Taylor Norvell has done a great job in getting her work finished. She is a sub school assistant during 8th period and we would be lost without her. I am proud of you Taylor.  Ms. Becky Clonts
  • In Environmental Science, Josue Pelen Martinez consistently participates in class discussions and volunteers to be part of our experiments. He also helps other students gain understanding and clarity, using both English and Spanish. Ms. Crismon and I are cheering on Josue's growth and dedication, both academically and as an English speaker. Ms. Gwen Dillon
  • Alexis (Lexi) Reid has been staying on top of her courses and recently was successful on a government assessment. In addition, she has been one of the best sub school runners - always willing to help. Mr. Dwayne Peyton
  • Phong Tran joined Chantilly in the middle of the year coming from Germany. He quickly adapted and demonstrated a highly motivated attitude to his studies. Phong keeps working on every assignment until he achieves great quality and as a result his progress is fast and steady.  He is a great model for the rest of the classmates.  Ms. Tatiana Goldovsky
  • Venkat Visveswaran has been diligent in getting his assignments completed in Cybersecurity Fundamentals and working hard to prepare for our upcoming Microsoft certification exam. Keep up the good work Venkat!  Ms. Cindy Belsky
