Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are very excited to host Herndon Middle School for our annual basketball classic, Hornets vs. Panthers in the new Langston gymnasium.  We are proud of our girls and boys representing us on the court. The Panther Cheerleaders will also represent as well.  Doors open at 5:00 p.m.  The games kick off at 5:30. The activities should wrap up by 8:00 p.m.  Tickets are $5 at the door and concessions of chips, candy, soda, and pizza will be sold.

Please talk to your student about good sportsmanship towards the Herndon players and parents as well as our referees.  We anticipate a great turn out and much spirit and want to showcase how respectful and spirited we can be as a community.

Good luck to both teams and our cheerleaders, and of course, Go Panthers!

Principal, Langston Hughes MS

Take-Out/Meal Delivery:

FCPS offers a hot lunch to each student free of charge this schoolyear.  We ask that parents/caregivers refrain from dropping off meals from outside eateries and reinforce with your students that using meal delivery apps is not permitted.  Staffing is not sufficient to connect students with these deliveries and the meals themselves have become an increasing source of distraction in the cafeteria.  Should students have a meal delivered, they’ll be asked to eat it in another location to limit that distraction.

Kiss and Rider Reminders

-Pull all the way up in line and then let your kids exit the vehicle

-Students should be dropped off in the Kiss and Ride line, not on the other side of the street

-Students should be exiting the vehicle on the school side, not on the street side

- Walkers should only use the cross walk
