School Board Member, Melanie Meren
TONIGHT March 9th at 7:00 pm
Join us March 9 at 7:00 pm to hear from our school-board representative, Melanie Meren. She will discuss the superintendent search and the 2022-23 FCPS budget. She can take questions on the capital improvement program, school redistricting, and any other subjects anyone wishes addressed.
Melanie Kadlic Meren (she/her) began serving her first term as the Hunter Mill representative on the Fairfax County School Board on January 1, 2020. Prior to her election in 2019, Meren served on and co-chaired the School Board's Human Resources Advisory Committee, charged with exploring teacher retention efforts; the Minority Student Achievement Oversight Committee; and the #IamFCPS parent-led grassroots effort to fully fund the FCPS budget.
Melanie and her husband have two children in FCPS, and have lived in Fairfax since 2005. Meren holds a Master's in Public Policy from Duke University and a Bachelor's in Political Science from the University at Albany, State University of New York. In 2018, she completed the University of Virginia's Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership.
