Good Morning Parents and Families:

I continue to be so impressed by all of the positive, uplifting and meaningful activities taking place in our classrooms, hallways and after school each day. This is a credit to our wonderful students and staff, and I love being able to highlight and celebrate everything that is going well. I look forward to you reading more about what took place this week at Stone and am excited for the many upcoming events in March.

A quick reminder that this Thursday, March 3, 2022 is a 2-hour early release. There is no school on Friday, March 4, 2022 as staff will be participating in professional development.

As always, I thank you for your continued support and I welcome your feedback. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly (mcnorris@fcps.edu).

Have a great weekend,

Meredith Norris
Principal
Stone Middle School

This week, 54 students completed and turned in their Kindness Week Bingo. 10 winners were randomly selected and will receive a prize on Monday. We thank everyone for their participation as we make a commitment to kindness each day!

A huge thank you to our bus drivers and attendants who ensure our students are transported to and from school safely! Thanks to our leadership students for showering them with appreciation and Panther Pride t-shirts.

Change to Universal Masking begins March 1
Starting March 1, parents and guardians may elect for their children not to wear a mask in school. However, the school division strongly recommends that all students continue to wear masks. Masks will still be required on school buses. All adults, including staff, visitors and volunteers, must continue to wear masks on school property.

Student Services Update

Academic Advising information and resources have been posted on the Stone website.   Our school counseling team is committed to meeting with all students 1:1 to provide individualized academic advising to all students in 7th at 8th grade.  Our school counselors will begin meeting with all 7th grade students on Monday, February 28th through Science classes.  This week, all 7th grade students received paper course catalogs and course selection information.

Course selections can be viewed by parents in Parent Vue > Course Requests as VIEW ONLY.  Students can make changes to courses in Student SIS or by contacting their school counselor for updates if courses have been locked.  Rising 9th grade students and parents should refer to the Westfield High School Academic Advising website for information and resources for high school.  Email TLBrumett@fcps.edu with any questions.
