Dear Shrevewood Families,
The reports for students who took the Grade 3-6 SEL Screener in October were sent home last week. Social- Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes to:
- develop healthy identities
- manage emotions
- achieve personal and collective goals
- feel and show empathy for others
- establish and maintain relationships
- make responsible and caring decisions
If you have additional questions regarding your child’s report, please contact their classroom teacher or their school counselor. At our next PTA meeting on March 8th, Sarah D'Elia and Kim Negro will be providing additional information and resources to help families partner with their students around SEL.

Parents, we are in need of Cafeteria Volunteers!
Volunteers would:
- Monitor cafeteria during different time slots (ranging from 10:50- 2:15)
- Help custodians clean tables
- Monitor students and prompt them to line up
- Have fun!!

We need your help in projecting the Kindergarten enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year. Virginia Law, section 22.1-254, requires that children who will reach their fifth birthday on or before September 30, 2022, must be enrolled in Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year unless the parent or guardian notifies the school in writing that they do not wish the child to attend school until the following year.
If you have a child who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2022, please complete this form and return it no later than March 1, 2022. If any of your neighbors have children who will be eligible for Kindergarten, please share this information with them, as we are especially interested in reaching those Shrevewood families who do not have children currently attending school.
The information on this survey will help the school plan for adequate facilities and personnel for the 2022-2023 school year. We thank you in advance for returning the form no later than March 1, 2022. Should you have any questions please contact our SIA/Registrar, Maria Giuliani.

Hard to believe that we are already planning for next year. We ask that all parents/guardians complete the Student Intention Form, one for each student, to let us know if your student will, or will not, return to Shrevewood next year. If you are not returning, please let us know where your child/children will be attending school.

As a reminder, school begins at 9:20 am and ends at 4:05 pm. Please notify us if your child will be absent or late to school. We will have an automated “call-out” at approximately 11 a.m. for students who were absent without prior notification. If you receive that call, please contact our office the next day.
