honor

Good Morning Parents and Families:

We had another exciting week filled with a lot of great activities both inside and outside of the classroom. As always, we honored numerous individuals throughout this week, which you can read more about below. We celebrated our school counseling team, our crossing guards, students who earned all A’s during the 2nd quarter (some pictured above) and much more. Our students enjoyed themselves during the after-school program, in particular with a return of futsal, indoor soccer. It was wonderful to see so many students and staff actively engaged and cheering each other on in a positive manner.

This upcoming week we emphasize the importance of kindness, which aligns with our school-wide expectations. Thanks to our leadership students, we will have our first spirit week of the 2022 calendar year, as well as several activities throughout the week. I encourage all of our students to participate as we do whatever we can to spread a little more kindness each day.

While we have so much going on in this current school year, we are also in full planning mode for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. Your students have been meeting with their school counselors to make course selections for next school year. We are also excited to welcome our future Stone Panthers and had a great virtual curriculum night for our Rising 7th graders earlier this week.

As always, I thank you for your continued support and I welcome your feedback. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly (mcnorris@fcps.edu). Enjoy the weekend!

Thanks,

Meredith Norris
Principal
Stone Middle School

Congratulations to all of our 7th and 8th grade students!

Crossing Guard Appreciation Day!
We recognized our three amazing crossing guards this week! Thank you to Nicol Martinez, Linda Poutre and Stephony Tyler for all you do to ensure the safety of our students each day!

A friendly reminder to please ensure our walkers cross at the appropriate locations and follow the instructions of our crossing guards. For those of you using Kiss-n-Ride, please make sure you follow the appropriate drop-off procedures. Please DO NOT drop your child off along Sully Park Drive, rather, please pull into the side parking lot and go through the Kiss-n-Ride line.
