Dismissal Updates & Reminders

Over these last few weeks, we have noticed a few areas for improvement in the area of safety management and we want to send out a few updates and reminders regarding our arrival and dismissal procedures.

 Dismissal Reminders

There are only three ways for students to be dismissed at the end of the day.  If you would like to make changes to dismissal, you must call the front office (703-713-3000) before 3pm each day to communicate the change, so that they can alert your child and their teacher.  We cannot allow parents to pick their children up by the main entrance on their way to the bus.

o    Bus

o    Kiss and Ride

  • Please do not pass cars in the Kiss and Ride lane

o    Walker Door

  • Only students living within a 1-mile radius of the school with a safe walking route are eligible to walk home from school
  • If you would like to confirm that your child is eligible, please just call the main office to inquire
  • All Kindergarten students must be met at the Walker Door to be released

Car Tags

To increase safety and efficiency in the Kiss and Ride Lane, we will be issuing car tags to be placed on your rear-view mirror

o    We compiled a list prior to the Winter break, but anyone who wants a tag issued should contact the main office at 703-713-3000.

o    We will be mailing out two tags per household later this week.

o    These tags will be valid for the remainder of this year and for the 2022-23 school year as well.

o    If you do not have a car tag at dismissal, you will need to show your ID in order to pick up your child.  We will also have tags available to be issued onsite at dismissal.

Please give us a call with any questions you might have and thank you for your cooperation as we maintain safety as our top priority.

Sincerely,

Paul Basdekis
