The Penguin Performers Introduce
The First School Musical:
The Music Man
The Franconia Elementary Music Department is putting on its first musical The Music Man -Kids under the direction of our music teacher, Jen Lucius! We are so excited to start a new tradition which will give students the opportunity to collaborate with their peers in a fun setting as they learn blocking, choreography, staging, and more.
Here are the details of what to expect:
AUDITIONS:
- Students in grades 4-6 may sign up for auditions until Friday, February 11. Students who sign up will bring the information packet home which includes an information page, audition permission form and photo/video release form.
- Auditions will be held on Wednesday, February 16, in Ms. Lucius’s music room from 3:45-5:00 p.m.
- Students who audition will need to be picked up at the Kiss and Ride line at 5:00 p.m.
- Cast list will be posted by Friday, February 18.
REHEARSALS:
- First rehearsal starts Wednesday, February 23, from 3:45 - 4:45 in the music room.
- Rehearsals will be every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:45 - 4:45 (music room / on stage) and parents will pick up students in the Kiss and Ride line after each rehearsal.
- Please understand that multiple absences in rehearsals will result in recasting your child’s part. Please avoid absences as much as possible.
PERFORMANCES:
- Performances will be limited to daytime student assemblies during the first week of June due to COVID protocols. If your child is in the musical, please make sure to avoid travel plans until after the musical.
- A recording of the performance will be on YouTube with a link provided to the entire school community.
