counselor week

National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.

We are very fortunate to have amazing school counselors at OES!  Thank you Mrs. Theberge and Mrs. Schnaue for all you do for our students, staff, and families.

2022-2023 Kindergarten Survey

We need your help in projecting the Kindergarten enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year. Virginia Law, section 22.1-254, requires that children who will reach their fifth birthday on or before September 30, 2022, must be enrolled in Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year unless the parent or guardian notifies the school in writing that they do not wish the child to attend school until the following year.

If you have a child who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2022, please complete this form and return it no later than March 1, 2022. If any of your neighbors have children who will be eligible for Kindergarten, please share this information with them, as we are especially interested in reaching those Oakton families who do not have children currently attending school.

The information on this survey will help the school plan for adequate facilities and personnel for the 2022-2023 school year. We thank you in advance for returning the form no later than March 1, 2022.

Starting on February 14, Oakton Elementary students will participate in the i9 Sports “I LOVE My School” Writing Contest!

Students will receive an entry sheet from their teacher to write about why they love Oakton Elementary! Kindergartners can draw a picture. Parents just complete the info at the bottom of the entry sheet.

The school with the highest % of participation wins a $1000 grant and all classes with 100% participation will have a chance to win a Pizza Party! On top of that, everyone that submits an entry will receive an email with a $20 credit for any season of i9 Sports soccer, basketball, flag football, baseball or volleyball!  Be on the lookout for the entry sheet next week and help us earn the $1000 grant!
