Hello Fairhill Families:
Today was an amazing start to our second semester! While the January calendar has been a bit inconsistent with inclement weather and student holidays, it has been inspiring to visit classrooms today and see our students so deep in learning. We missed your children just as much as they, hopefully, missed school over the last few days.
Thank you all for your support during a successful virtual snow day. We had phenomenal attendance and hopefully you enjoyed getting a glimpse into your child’s day-to-day classroom experience.
Rising 7th grade families, don’t forget that tomorrow (Wednesday, 1/26) is the Luther Jackson Middle School Curriculum night on ZOOM. More information can be found from your classroom teacher.
Stay well,
Ted & Courtney

Thank a Teacher Art Contest
Dear Fairhill Families,
Let's get creative with the Virginia Lottery's Thank a Teacher Art Contest!
For the fifth year in a row, the Virginia Lottery's Thank a Teacher Art Contest campaign encourages Virginia's public school students to express their appreciation for Virginia's teachers through art. Students can submit their art through January 31, 2022 at thankateacherva.com. Winners will be notified in March and their art will be featured on notecards during National Teacher Appreciation Week in May. But it doesn't stop there! The three students winners will each receive a $150 Visa gift card and $2,000 in cash and prizes for their school, courtesy of the Virginia Lottery and the Supply Room!

FCPS Policy on Masks
FCPS continues to require universal mask wearing in alignment with CDC guidance. Our layered prevention strategies have proven effective in keeping transmission rates low in our schools. We know our students are best served by in-person instruction. Adhering to our layered prevention strategies, especially universal masking, keeps our schools open and safe places for students to learn.
FCPS is reviewing Governor Youngkin’s executive order issued this weekend. As we have throughout the pandemic, we will continue to share any updated information with you around FCPS COVID-19 practices and protocols as needed. You can review current health and safety guidelines on our website.
