2.  Academic Advising/Course Selection for 2022-2023

The Academic Advising process for course selection for the 2022-2023 school year is starting soon.

Chantilly HS Student Services has organized a Google Site with resources related to Academic Advising: https://sites.google.com/view/chs-academic-advising

This site includes information on graduation requirements, course recommendations by grade level, Honors/AP course expectations, Dual Enrollment and more.

Note: In order to access this site, students may have to log out of their FCPS Google Account. If you receive a ‘not found’ error while trying to access the site, check your browser to ensure you are not logged in to an FCPS Google Account.

 

Students will receive an overview of the Academic Advising process during an upcoming Advisory period.

  • 11th Grade (Rising Seniors) – Tuesday, January 25
  • 10th Grade (Rising Juniors) – Monday, January 31
  • 9th Grade (Rising Sophomores) – Monday, February 14

Current CHS students should check their school email accounts regularly for updates and information about Academic Advising from counselors.

 

Rising 9th Grade students have already participated in a virtual presentation with CHS counselors earlier this month. Details on deadlines and the course selection process are provided by the middle school to rising 9th grade students.

 

Curriculum Night Presentation

Virtual Curriculum Fair

Current CHS students (grades 9, 10 and 11) reviewed a Virtual Curriculum Fair Google Site during Advisory on Monday, January 10.

Families and students are encouraged to use this resources throughout the Academic Advising process.

3. Current Spectator Guidance Extended until 01/28

In an effort to support the continuation of declining COVID numbers and minimize students from missing class time due to being a close contact or contacting the Corona Virus; FCPS Senior Leadership in consultation with the High School Principals Association, has extended the current spectator guidelines for events for one more week.  The current family members only policy will now be in effect through Friday, January 28th. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding.

Chantilly’s Scholastic Bowl Team competed last Saturday at Madison.  The team finished in 3rd place in the meet.  Congratulations to the students and Coach Kenkeremath!
