Franklin Sherman Flash - January 18, 2022

Dear Franklin Sherman Families,

Yesterday, we honored and celebrated the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his dedication to equality and serving others.  It's a time for each of us to reflect on how we serve our community.

One way we serve our community is to continue our mitigation practices to keep those around us safe and healthy.  At this time FCPS requires everyone, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask inside our buildings and on our school buses, except when alone in a room. This includes staff, students, and visitors.

Outdoor masking is recommended for anyone who is not fully vaccinated in crowded settings or during activities that involve sustained close contact with others.

FCPS is conducting a nationwide search for a new superintendent to lead the school district when Superintendent Brabrand's contract expires at the end of the 2021-22 school year. Your input is an important part of the search process! Please attend a Superintendent Search Virtual Town Hall to provide feedback on the characteristics and personality traits you would like to see in the new superintendent.

The town halls will be hosted on Zoom tonight, January 18. Visit FCPS’ Superintendent Search webpage to register

Finally, with potential inclement weather in the forecast Wednesday night, all students will bring home laptops in the event that Thursday becomes a virtual snow day.  Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Kathleen Quigley

Principal
