Student Laptops

Student Laptops

Tonight all Oak Hill students will be bringing their school laptops home for a home readiness check.  Please assist your child in performing these readiness steps to ensure their devices and accounts are functioning properly on your home network in case there is a need to have a virtual learning day.  Because of the threat of weather next week, all students will be bringing their laptops on Friday for the long weekend.

At Home - Technology Readiness Steps for Students

  1. Log onto your laptop with your student ID and password.
  2. Connect your laptop to your home internet connection.
  3. Login to your Google account.  In the Chrome browser, go to www.fcpsschools.net, sign in with your fcpsschools.net account.
  4. Log into Schoology. There is a shortcut on all student desktops to Schoology, or you can open Chrome and find the Schoology shortcut in the FCPS Bookmarks folder on the Bookmarks bar. Make sure you can access your courses.
  5. If you have any issues with these steps from home, go to the Tech Support for Families page for Help Documents or to submit a ticket for support.

Students in grades 2 through 6 will be expected to take their laptops home with them each night, charge them overnight, and return with them to school in the morning fully charged. As a reminder, the laptops are for school assigned work only and should be used only by the student it is assigned to.
