Supporting Zoom Group Session our At Home Chesterbrook Students
Parents,
We realize it is difficult if your children are learning from home during their quarantine period so we have set up a way for an optional check in with a staff member for any students that are learning from home due to Covid exposure or positivity.
Teachers are in contact, supplying asynchronous assignments and lessons via asynchronous or live zoom connections.
Small Group Check Ins Starting Soon!
We would like to offer optional small group check ins with a staff member to any students learning from home. These check-ins will be with a staff member who will provide an opportunity for the students to gather and do a short activity together. The check-ins will be mixed groupings of primary or upper grades to support social-emotional needs.
We are starting this Thursday (tomorrow) with our 3rd - 6th grade students tomorrow at 1PM and next Tuesday at 9AM with our Kindergarten through 2nd grade students. This schedule of Tuesday/Thursday small groups will be ongoing through January while we evaluate the need of our students during these difficult times. We hope they will benefit from this support and time with peers.
When to Connect
Beginning January 18th
9AM - Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders - Tuesday and Thursday
Beginning January 13th
1PM - 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade students - Tuesday and Thursday
How to connect for your group check-in - CES Library Schoology Course
Connections will take place in our Library Schoology Course using the Zoom link provided to our students. Only our students accounts will link to the zoom so your child will need to be logged into their FCPS account to access the meeting.
Who will be running the small group?
Various staff including our Librarian, SBTS, Counselors, Social Worker and AART will rotate in supporting the small group sessions.
