Happy New Year & Happy Friday, Braddock Families!
Hope this message finds you and your family members in the best of spirits and health. As you return your child(ren) to school, please remind your child(ren) about the FCPS layered prevention strategies including proper mask wearing, hand washing and using hand sanitizer. It is important to send your child(ren) to school with a fitted mask each day.
If your child(ren) are sick or have been exposed to COVID, please keep them home. You can call the school at 703-914-7300 or send an email to your child’s teacher letting them know. The school will prepare asynchronous work for your child to complete while they are quarantining at home.
REMINDER: The front office has been relocated to the trailer across from the gym (Door #4).

Braddock ES reports a total of 14 positive COVID-19 cases since August 23, 2021. Eight (8) students and five (6) are staff members.
This week, we had zero (0) student(s) and zero (0) staff member who tested positive for COVID and we have a total of zero (0) student(s) and zero (0) staff member(s) who are currently learning and teaching remotely while in a pause, quarantine, or isolation.
Remember, do your part to keep our school safe. Wear your mask, get vaccinated if you are eligible, practice healthy hygiene, and stay home when you are sick. Most importantly, please do not send your children to school if they are sick or asked to quarantine.

The renovation for Braddock ES continues to progress. We would like to inform you about the following changes, effective January 3, 2022:
- The main entrance (Door #1) will be closed and used only for emergency drills.
- The main/front office will be relocated to the trailer across from the gym (Door #4).
- Student arrival is from 8:30 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.
- If you child arrives late to school, between the hours of 8:55 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., you should bring your child to the cafeteria (Door #3). Our Parent Liaisons will assist you with getting your child to class.
- If you bring your child after 9:30 a.m., you will need to bring your child to the main/front office trailer located across from the gym.
- Student Pick-Up (i.e., Early pick-up, late pick-up, and clinic)
- If you wish to pick up your child early from school, please send a communication to your child’s teacher or call the school at 703-914-7300.
- You should report to the main/front office trailer to pick up your child.
The next session of the (free) Inova Healthy Plate Club will start at the end of January – See the flyer below for directions about how to sign up.
The classes are virtual and students receive all of the materials and ingredients to cook. One parent said, “It is something that has changed my son....He now cooks together with me and knows how to read the amounts of sodium and sugar or ingredients in the foods we buy in our meals. So I am very grateful to all of you and to INOVA for making this class possible for children who have a poor diet and it also helps us parents feed our children better. Thank you."
