Dear Clermont Community,
I hope you had a rejuvenating winter break, and that Covid did not significantly hinder your holiday plans. The recent spike in Covid cases has generated questions regarding the return to in-person learning tomorrow, Monday, January 3. At Clermont ES we are doing our best to prepare for the in-person return of our students tomorrow. I do want to share that Clermont has a significant number of staff members who will be absent as we open tomorrow. I ask for your patience and grace as we strategize ways to cover all our classes this coming week and note that response times for general questions and communications sent to teachers, admin, and office personnel may be lengthier than normal.
You can help by notifying us if your child has tested positive for Covid-19 and will be absent. You can email me (RSalata@fcps.edu), Ms. Katie Simmons, our registrar (KESimmons@fcps.edu), and our Covid Care Coordinator, Ms. Megan Hendrick (MHendrick@fcps.edu) for next steps. Or you can call our attendance line at 703-921-2424 and leave a message.
Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any Covid-like symptoms.
Clermont staff will continue to partner with you to maintain the health and safety of our school community. Please remember that non-vented masks are required of all students, staff, and visitors inside the school building at all times. We will continue to follow the layered prevention strategies including frequent hand washing/sanitizing and providing physical distancing wherever possible.
