2. The Chantilly HS Ugly Sweater Contest is Back and Better Than Ever
After a 2 year hiatus caused by the pandemic, today marked the return of an especially fun CHS tradition—the holiday ugly seater contest. In front of a packed auditorium, band teacher Mr. Doug Maloney and social studies teacher Mr. John Downes were named co-champions for their truly hideous sweaters and on-stage personas.

6. Recent Student Successes
This is the next installment for the school year of what has become a weekly segment aimed at recognizing students for demonstrating recent improvement or achievement in academics, behavior or citizenship. At the end of each recognition, you will see the name of the nominating teacher or staff member. On a rotating basis, departments will nominate students. I meet with recognized students each week to congratulate them in person.

Retal Emara loves to learn. She arrives early to every class with a positive attitude, ready to engage in whatever we will be doing in class. She puts full effort into everything she does and even does extra, optional assignments so that she can learn even more. She is a wonderful role model for her classmates. I am so happy to teach Retal! Ms. Angie Rollet
-
Sarah Ellen Henein has worked as hard as I've ever seen a student work to get caught up and genuinely learn the material beyond just turning stuff in! Her grade keeps getting better and better, and her example to other students is simply extraordinary! Mr. Timothy Murphy
-
Saymon Mendoza Melgar is an excellent student! He always completes his work, asks questions when he doesn't understand, and even helps to teach other students. I really enjoy having him in class! Ms. Debbie Kim
-
Shamayah Nutifafa is doing fantastic! All of her hard work is paying off! She comes for help on a regular basis and has gained so much confidence in her math skills. She is a pleasure to have in class and a role model for her peers!! Ms. Karen Fiala

Josue David Pelen Martinez is an exceptionally hard worker. He is kind and helpful--he is quick to offer to help a teacher or a friend in need. We are excited to see how Josue grows and matures in the next few years. Ms. Anne Crismon

Anika Umaselvan is a bright student in Pre-Calculus class. She turns in all her assignments on time and performs very well on her assessments. She is very precise in her problem solving. I am proud of her accomplishments. Best wishes in her endeavors. Ms. Giti Mazhari
- Good job on overall improvement in the class, Aiden Zampiello! I am so proud of how much change you've made in the last month and a half or so and I am excited to see how much you can do if you keep up with what you are doing now! :) Ms. Annie Chong
