Orange you glad it's winter break?! - We are!

Note from Dr. Sheers

Winter break and the New Year are just around the corner. I share our thanks, gratitude and awe of the West Springfield staff as well as our community's support and engagement. 2021 has been a wild and unexpected ride for all of us and yet your support and encouragement has remained consistent. We are thrilled to have started this school year, five days a week in person and look forward to many more milestones in 2022.

We are fortunate to benefit from such a generous community and staff. We wish everyone a happy and healthy winter break.

*Please note that the school office will be closed over winter break.

FCPS CARES is an opportunity for staff, parents, students, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others. Every month, a nominated employee from each region and Central Offices will be recognized as an FCPS CARES of the Month recipient. We’ll share their names in Employee News, and they will also have access to a new FCPS CARES banner for their profile photo in Outlook. Watch this video to learn more about FCPS CARES. We also encourage you to acknowledge a staff member who has gone above and beyond!  We love our WSES staff members, let's tell them how you feel!

Positivity Project

Positivity Project Week of December 13
This week's character strength is Self-Control – You demonstrate this strength when you have the ability to control your emotions and behavior.  You think before you act.  Self-control is knowing you can but deciding you won’t.   Self-control is a key factor in achieving success.  We can’t control everything in life, but we can definitely control ourselves.  You are always responsible for how you act. If you learn self-control, you can master anything. One’s greatest challenge is to control oneself.  Find out more about Self-control by watching this  video
