Many thanks to PTA for a wonderful assembly this week! Mr. Brian Curry brought his Magical Math Tour to Clermont and students were treated to an exciting show that integrated math concept with magic!
We have accumulated a large number of coats, sweatshirts, and outerwear in our lost and found bin. Please remind your child to look for their lost item next week. We have relocated the Lost and Found to the front lobby for now, and all remaining articles of clothing will be donated in January.
Welcome to our December Days of Cheer at Clermont! Participation is totally optional. We hope this is a fun way to keep you cheering through to the Winter Break!
December Soaring Eagles nominations are now open...Be sure to nominate a teacher or staff member that has gone above and beyond this month!

Congratulations to November Soaring Eagle, Ms. Kelly Fitzpatrick!
MCEC Parent workshops are available via webinar to support parents who are remote or not located near a major military installation. Webinars are presented live usually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Noon EST. Participants must register in advance for the live webinar presentation.
The holiday season and colder weather brings more indoor gatherings. Delta continues to spread and a new variant’s impact on community transmission remains unknown. We are fortunate to have easy access to two tools to keep ourselves safe and schools open.
VaxUP
Vaccination opportunities are available across Fairfax, whether you need your first dose or a booster. Visit the health department’s website to find a list of providers or make an appointment.
Diagnostic Testing
Diagnostic testing is now available for students at six drive-through locations. You may take advantage of these services if you are a close contact or are experiencing symptoms. Appointments are not needed for diagnostic testing but families do need to register in the secure online portal. Information about student diagnostic testing, including site locations and schedules, is available on the FCPS website.

For those who utilize the reviews from Common Sense Media, please be advised of the following update:
Common Sense Media has made a change that only allows you to access 3 free Reviews and then you have options to sign up for their Plus service at $3 a month or $30 per year. In order for families to continue to be able to access the reviews for free, click: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/plus/checkout. Underneath the two big subscription price boxes there is a line that says "Can't make a donation right now but still want Plus? Let us know." Clicking on "Let us know" will take parents and guardians to an option to request access for free month-by-month access as needed.
The planned second round of the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener has been postponed by FCPS until further notice. Families will be notified if it is rescheduled at a later date.
More information, including a short video about the SEL screener in FCPS and the screener questions, can be found on the SEL Screener webpage (https://www.fcps.edu/node/43892).
