Herndon Fire Donations

Herndon Apartment Fire- Donations Needed

On Thursday evening, there was an apartment fire in Herndon. Eleven apartments were  deemed uninhabitable and displaced 44 residents. Fairfax Neighborhood and Community Services and Office for Emergency Management, the Red Cross, and Cornerstones have been assisting displaced residents. Donations of food and grocery store gift cards are currently the greatest need. All donations will go directly to the affected families and residents. Please keep these families in your thoughts, and consider donating essential items at the Herndon Police Department or Cornerstones.

Donations may be taken to either:

  •    Gift Cards (grocery stores, Target, Wal-Mart, Kohl's)
  •    Personal Hygiene Items (Adult & Child)
  •    NEW Clothing and Undergarments (Adult & Child)
  •    Food and Snacks
  •    Activities
    • Coloring books/crayons, small toys and games, books, magazines
  •    Diapers
  •    Pajamas (Adult & Child)
  •    Coats (Adult & Child)

The affected residents will need cash donations later for long term assistance when relocating the families.
