A message from Principal, Amy Miller:

Dear Kilmer Families,

A few weeks ago, Mrs. Jones’ class put out a call  for supplies for a Class Service Project and the Kilmer Community responded! Here is a message from Ms. Jones and her class.

Thank you from Ms. Jones's Class

Thank you, Kilmer Community, for your generous support of Mrs. Jones’ Class Service Project.  We repurposed old t-shirts into reusable bags and filled them with essential toiletry items including:  deodorant, soap, toothpaste and toothbrush, hand sanitizer, feminine hygiene pads, and face masks.  With your help, we made and filled more than 100 bags to be distributed to homeless individuals in Washington, D.C. through the Homeless Hope organization.  Thank you!

Sincerely,

Amy Miller, Principal

Giving Opportunity in PAWS Advisory

Next week students will learn about an opportunity to give back to the Kilmer community by donating shelf-stable food items to our food pantry. It will be a fun competition among PAWS classes for a good cause!

Second NJHS Mandatory Candidate Meeting --  December 14, 2021

The date of the next NJHS meeting has been changed to Tuesday, December 14 after school as we are going to meet in person. This mandatory meeting is required for all candidates.

We will hold sessions during BOTH after school blocks to make the meeting more accessible for all students. Each candidate only needs to attend one session to get the information needed for the next steps.

What does NJHS provide? A foundation for success! Candidates are developing skills and habits that will benefit them in high school and beyond. Through experiential leadership, team building, and service project development, NJHS candidates learn to take the lead on improvement initiatives in their school and community. NJHS challenges students to commit to the pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship through active involvement in community service.

NJHS Office Hours are on Thursdays in Mrs. Hild’s room, D111, from 2:30 – 3:00.
