Do you know your SLO (School Liaison Officer) at Ft. Belvoir?

“SLOs are your best support in the area of education, schools and military transitions. SLOs are knowledgeable in current education news and policies. They act as the conduit between the school community – including local public school districts, private schools and home school Families – and the installation. Regardless of branch of service, SLO’s are available to all military families.”

Moving in the middle of a school year?

Moving in the middle of a school year is common for military families and other highly mobile families.  Every few years your family may be required to move, possibly across the county or to another country. Relocating a school-aged child includes its own unique challenges and responsibilities. Military OneSource provides practical information on enrollment, placement and attendance, as well as other helpful intel you’ll need to successfully help your children navigate these transitions and build lifelong resiliency

If you need help planning your school transition, reach out to our Family Liaison, Stacy Huisman, for help. She can help ease the goodbyes and help with a few new hellos.
