FH Weekly Update - 11/28/21

Dear Freedom Hill Community,

We hope everyone had a wonderful "mini break" for Thanksgiving. We are "back to work" tomorrow with a busy December of learning together. We have just a few short updates for you today:

  1. As a reminder, tomorrow is the last day to nominate your favorite staff member(s) for the FCPS Outstanding Employee Awards. You can find all of the information below.
  2. With relatively mild weather this week, we hope to continue our outdoor lunches for students, and our SignUpGenius for parent volunteers for outdoor lunch has been extended. Thank you to our many parents who have joined us during the day to support our students - your help has been essential!
  3. If you have not already, please consider having your student vaccinated. The COVID-19 vaccine is free. To find locations near you, use the website to make the appointment:  https://www.vaccines.gov/search/

In partnership,

Nicholas Zapadka, Principal

Eric Kopacz, Assistant Principal

Community Reminders

Thank you to our community for your assistance as we continue to learn during an unusual year. Please help us to ensure smooth functioning in our school by helping us with the below:

  • All students should come to school each day with a water bottle and several masks.
  • Parents should remain vigilant about symptoms associated with COVID-19. Please utilize this checklist daily, and do not send your student to school if they have any symptoms.
  • Please alert the front office/teacher of dismissal changes before 3:00 each day. Dismissal changes and early dismissals between 3:00-4:00 place a significant burden on the office staff and disruption in classrooms. Thank you!
