Franklin MS Weekly Update - November 12

Franklin Families and Students,

This week we honored and recognized our veterans and the role of the military in our country. Yesterday, all of our students were able to take part in a Veterans Day presentation that included musical performances and contributions from members of the military. Our students engaged in reflective discussions about the importance of honoring our veterans and what Veterans Day means to them. On behalf of the Franklin Middle School students and staff, we would like to express our gratitude to all of the men and women, and their families, who have served our nation as members of the United States Armed Forces.

I would also like to continue the theme of gratitude and say a big THANK YOU to the Franklin PTA for providing a delicious luncheon this week for all of our hard-working staff members. Our entire team enjoyed this special treat and we are grateful for the support of the PTA and our school community.

Finally, we have some exciting news to share about one of our FMS student musicians! One of our 8th graders, Ella Kim, is an accomplished classical pianist. Ella, and her sister Emma-Grace, have been invited by NPR’s From the Top and Classical WETA, DC’s classical radio station, to do an Instagram Takeover of @ClassicalWETA for the next few days where they will be sharing insight into their daily lives as young classical musicians. The Instagram Takeover will conclude with an interview on Classical WETA’s Facebook page on Saturday evening, November 13. Way to go Ella!

Best wishes to all of our FMS families for an enjoyable weekend of beautiful Fall weather.

Sincerely,

Dustin Wright

Principal
