Greetings Saxons,

What a week it’s been in Saxon Country! A huge shoutout to our varsity football team! They were victorious over the McLean Highlanders thanks to a touchdown made in the final seconds of the game! In addition to the win and bragging rights, our team was presented the McLean Rotary Cup at the conclusion of the match-up. Way to go, Saxon Football!

This past weekend, our Model UN team won the BEST LARGE TEAM DELEGATION award (equivalent to FIRST PLACE) at the University of Virginia’s Model UN high school competition. Best Delegation is equivalent to first place, Outstanding Delegation is equivalent to second place, Honorable Delegation is equivalent to third place, and Verbal Commendation is equivalent to fourth place. Congratulations to our phenomenal team!

The thrill of competition continues this weekend. We wish our Girls Cross Country team the best of luck as they compete in state competition tomorrow in the Plains, VA. Also, be sure to tune in tomorrow at 10am to NBC4 to see our fabulous team compete on It’s Academic!

Finally, this week is National School Psychologist Week. I thank our psychologist Anna Davis for her relentless support of our students. Her tireless efforts to meet the emotional needs of our students are so appreciated. We are fortunate to have her as a member of our school community. Ms. Davis, thank you!
