Dear Wakefield Forest Families,
We were so excited that our renovation passed on the recent bond. This means that things at WFES are going to start moving forward. The week of December 1 we expect that FCPS staff will begin building our six quads and bathroom trailer on the field. These will be used during the renovation. This will mean a lot of hustle and bustle out on our fields to get these delivered, assembled and fully functioning.
We anticipate the contract to be assigned to a builder in early May. We will host a family information session in May to explain the renovation process. Please know that anyone on site will have gone through a background check. A safety fence will be put up to ensure student safety. We will continue to use outdoor spaces for recess during this process but will keep students spaced away from construction.

COVID-19 Screening at WFES |
Voluntary COVID-19 screening of students starts this week. We will have on site screening on Thursdays from 12:30- 2:30 pm only for students for whom we have received parent consent. Parents have the option of allowing consent using this portal to register . There is no need to let us know that you do not provide consent.

SCA Spirit Day - Dress Like a Teacher - Tuesday, November 23 |
On Tuesday, November 23 we encourage students to participate in our second SCA Spirit Day: Dress Like a Teacher. On this day, honor all teachers by dressing like your favorite subject, a teacher you admire, or what comes to mind when you think of "teacher."

WFES Giving Tree Gift Card Drive |
In the spirit of giving this season, Wakefield Forest will be hosting a gift card drive to support our families in need. This year we will be collecting gift cards for the upcoming holidays in November and December. Please donate and keep our tradition of giving to others in our community.
We will be accepting gift cards of any denomination from local grocery stores and retail establishments. Giant, Safeway, Food Lion, Target, Walmart or other grocery stores are always great choices.
Gift cards can be dropped off at the front office until December 15. Thank you for your generosity!

If your child was absent for Fall Portraits in October, or if you would like your child's picture retaken, Strawbridge Studios will be here for photo retakes on Thursday, December 2. Look out for more information as the date approaches!
