With a new quarter upon us, now is a good time to clean out your student’s backpack, reload it with extra masks, and check to ensure the Impact Aid form has been returned to school.
Veteran’s Day Event Nov. 11, 2021
Early release at 12:15.
Join us for an entertaining afternoon to celebrate our Veterans. This event will be held in the Cooper cafeteria from 2:00-3:30 on Thursday, November 11th. After a fascinating performance by the Air Force Band, students and parents will be designing cards, letters, and artwork that will be given to the Veterans. Supplies are provided for everyone so all students need to bring is a parent/guardian! Register using this Google Form. Students can earn service hours for this event by entering these hours into x2VOL.
TJHSST Application Process
Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) Application Process for Eligible 8th Grade Students - The application is open and will close on Friday, November 19 at 4:00 PM. Detailed information is posted on the TJ Admissions Office website. Please contact the TJ Admissions Office by email with any questions.
Private School Application Requests
If your student is applying to a private school for the 2022-23 school year, please follow the steps listed HERE. All forms and requests should be emailed to your student’s counselor at least 2 weeks prior to the school’s application deadline.
Volunteers Needed
The hearing and vision test is given to all 7th graders at Cooper M.S. We are in need of volunteers to assist with administering the screenings through our PE classes on Thursday, Nov. 18, and Friday, Nov. 19.

MAA AMC 8 Test
Cooper MS will again host the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) AMC 8 test. The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40 minute, multiple choice exam in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills. Additional information can be found on the MAA website.
This year the test will be administered online, and students will take the assessment on Tuesday, January 18th during block 4. If your child is interested in taking the AMC 8, please complete this Google Form no later than Wednesday, December 1st; late registrations will not be accepted.
