Happy Sunday Justice HS Students, Families, and Community Members: headshot

I woke up this morning as the PROUDEST Principal in FCPS!  Not because our football team secured their spot as the 2021 National District Champions for the first time since 1994 on Friday night.  Not because ALL of our fall sports programs are 2021 National District Champions (cheer, field hockey, and volleyball).  Not because our amazing Marching Band have earned 1st place and exceptional performances in multiple competitions this past quarter.  And not because our Cross-Country team competed at their best in the National District Meet, which led to Ryan Watson being named the Individual District Champion.

I woke up this morning as the PROUDEST Principal in FCPS because collectively, we as a school community, have beat so many odds in a short amount of time that have led to victories inside and outside the classroom.  Teamwork is a sport on its own.  Our Justice Family and community have proved that we can excel in this sport called teamwork with patience, purpose, and productivity.  As we navigate through the remaining weeks of 2021, let’s focus on the teamwork and wins we’ve accomplished thus far to support our future challenges, changes, and unique circumstances.  Your continued support of our goals is always welcomed and very much appreciated!

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

 important info

2 Hour Early Release - November 11th: As a reminder, Thursday, November 11th, is a two-hour early release for students for the Veterans Day holiday. Classes will resume on Friday, November 12th

First Quarter Reports Cards: First Quarter report cards will be distributed to students this week. Students and families can also access Report Card and Grade Book information in ParentVUE and StudentVUE beginning November 13th. Because we use a rolling gradebook, report card grades are no longer averaged to determine a student's final grade, but rather serve as a report on student progress.

Fairfax County Youth Survey - November 15th-16th: The Fairfax County School Board and the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors work together to administer the Fairfax County Youth Survey. The survey provides a wealth of information about a variety of topics related to our youth and is given to all students in grades 10 and 12.  For more information, please see the FCPS Youth Survey webpage.

PTSA Trivia and International Food Night: An evening of food, folks, and fun is coming up Friday, November 19th. Food will be served at 6:30 PM and Trivia will start at 7:00 PM. Please sign up to donate food to share at our International Trivia Night.

To minimize contact, we are asking for food to be served in individual portions. We also need volunteers to set up, help out at the food tables, and clean up after the event.

Sign-Up here to donate food or volunteer to help.

Digital Resource Consent

At Justice High School, our teachers will use a variety of powerful digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. Without consent, teachers will need to plan additional lessons or deviate from a useful application altogether. You can find our school’s list of the resources here: https://justicehs.fcps.edu/adopteddigitalresources

Please follow this link to indicate whether or not your student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year. This page also provides more information about how FCPS carefully reviews digital resources for approval.
