Glasgow Community Gazette - November 7

Powell

Glasgow Community:

I hope this message finds you well. On Saturday it was great connecting with the MOM Network of parents and connecting with their children at Glasgow. It’s been great finding new ways of getting into the community. We also were excited for our Glasgow Reading Invasion at Glasgow MS on Saturday. Also, a special thanks to the veterans in our community for their service today and every day we can celebrate them! My dad is a marine and did his training at Parris Island. I have great respect for our veterans in our community!

As a reminder we have another 2 hour early release on November 11th and the school day ends at 12:15PM. Also, community clinics and local pediatricians will begin administering the COVID-19 vaccine to children ages 5-11 very soon. Up-to-date information about vaccination opportunities will be available on our website. FCPS asked local pediatricians to talk with FCPS about some of the questions families have about the vaccine. In this short video  we learn how the vaccine works and its safety.

FCPS will be holding a virtual Calendar Development Webinar on Monday, November 8, at 7 p.m., on Zoom to discuss how the 2022-23 school year calendar is being developed, and for participants to provide feedback on a series of questions related to this process. FCPS is offering this community engagement opportunity in English, Spanish, Arabic, and Korean. American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided. Please register online to attend the Calendar Development Webinar and indicate if you will need an interpreter. You will receive the webinar link on November 8, from “Office of Communication and Community Relations.”

I am still conducting home visits, so please let me know if you would like me to visit you at your home. As always, please reach out to myself or members of our team if you have any questions.
