Veterans Day Recognition

A message from Principal, Amy Miller:

Dear Kilmer Families,

Next week, on Thursday, November 11, 2021, we all come together to recognize our veterans. At Kilmer, we will be showing our appreciation to our nation’s veterans through a school-wide activity. During the PAWS Advisory block on November 11, the students will be learning about the history of Veterans Day and writing letters to deployed troops. Thank you to all the veterans in our community and across our country for your service.

Thursday, November 11 is a two hour early dismissal day. Please see below for the bell schedule.

Sincerely, Amy Miller, Principal

Support a Service Project

Mrs. Jones’ PAWS and Science Students are cultivating an attitude of gratitude.  In addition to giving thanks, they plan to give back in the form of a service project to help the homeless. Students will re-purpose their outgrown t-shirts to make reusable bags and fill them with essential toiletry items. The bags will then be distributed to homeless individuals living in Washington, D.C. through the organization, Homeless Hope.  Please consider supporting these students through donations of old t-shirts and new toiletries.

A list of needs can be found on this sign-up genius:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4BA9A72BA2FEC25-pegasus.  We request that all donations be delivered to room F121 no later than November 12th.  Thank you!

Photos

Photo packages have been received at Kilmer and all students who had their photo taken on September 30 or October 1 should have received their photo. Photos can be ordered with the code on the packet. Retakes will be on Monday, November 15th during PAWS for those students who were absent on the original photo day or would like a retake. Students who want a retake need to bring in the original packet.
