Announcements and Upcoming Events

1st Quarter Report Cards

Today, we will distribute 1st quarter report cards to students. We will do this during our 8th period and we hope it serves as a good conversation starter at home about how the first quarter of the school year went. We hope your student has experienced many successes through the first 9 weeks of school and hope they can build on that momentum going forward. If you and your student see areas where improvement is needed, consider having them stay after school to work with a teacher, use their agenda to write down important assignments and dates, and create a home/school calendar to better manage their time.

Grades are always available through ParentVUE, so please take advantage of this tool to help monitor how your child is doing in school. Here are some ways to make sure you are connected:

The Student Information System (SIS) Parent Account Access allows parents access to teacher grade books, attendance information, course history and other useful information.

Twain’s Hunger Games

Team Twain is beginning a two-week-long community event to gather resources for our community Food Bank, Koinonia.  Students will earn points for their team from November 8th through November 22nd for participating.  Please consider donating an item such as Canned Corn, Canned Tomatoes, Canned Fruit (low sugar), Ketchup, Mustard, Mayonnaise, Salad Dressing, Instant Hot Cereal, Masa, Sugar, Flour, Pancake Mix, and Baking Mix (shelf-stable Items). Donations will be collected in Twain's lobby in the morning and during lunch each day.

A second opportunity to participate in Twain’s Hunger Games as a family is by participating in our 5K Fun Run on November 20th from 10 AM – 12 PM.  To register, wear your team Twain color and arrive at Twain's back parking lot at 9:30 AM to pay the registration fee (either a shelf-stable food donation or a cash donation for the Koinonia Community Food Bank).  Runners can earn team points by wearing their team's color (Red Cavaliers & Wolverines, Blue Panthers & Lancers, Black Patriots and Eagles, Green Pirates and Hawks).  Additionally, the fastest participant for each team will win a Pie as a prize.

We look forward to working together to help address food insecurities in our community.
