Veteran’s Day Event 2021 

Early release at 12:15

Join us for an entertaining afternoon to celebrate our Veterans. This event will be held in the Cooper cafeteria from 2:00-3:30 on Thursday, November 11th. After a fascinating performance by the Air Force Band, students and parents will be designing cards, letters, and artwork that will be given to the Veterans. Supplies are provided for everyone so all students need to bring is a parent/guardian! Register using this Google Form. Students can earn service hours for this event by entering these hours into x2VOL.  


First Quarter Report Cards

First quarter report cards will be handed out to students in Block 7 on Friday, November 12 to all families. 

Please note that SIS Grade Module and Report Card Module will not be available during the grading period from Fri. Oct 29 until Sat. Nov. 13. Weekly Progress Report will not be sent during this time as well. 

Please contact your child's subject teacher and/or counselor for any questions regarding your child's academic progress.


Weekly Progress Reports 

Please sign up for Weekly Progress Reports via SIS ParentVUE. All parents/guardians of MS and HS students who have registered for a SIS ParentVUE Account and have a primary email address recorded in SIS ParentVUE can receive Weekly Progress Reports via email. This report provides a summary of your student(s) grades for the current quarter.

To activate the Weekly Progress Reports via email, login to your SIS ParentVUE Account and first verify that you have a primary email address within the system. It is listed under the “My Account” tab. If it is blank, enter the email address where you would like to receive the progress reports and click on update account. Once confirmed, parents/guardians are able to activate and select their preferences for receiving these reports within the SIS ParentVUE “My Account” tab. 


Volunteers Needed

The hearing and vision test is given to all 7th graders at Cooper M.S. We are in need of volunteers to assist with administering the screenings through our PE classes on Thursday, Nov. 18, and Friday, Nov. 19.

Cooper Outstanding Employee Awards- Consider Nominating a Staff Member!

Nominations are now open for the Outstanding Employee Awards! To submit a nomination for a Cooper Middle School Outstanding Employee in one of the categories below, please complete the nomination through this Google form link: https://forms.gle/R9AVPCmVTvcCDcEF7. You may nominate an employee in one or more categories. All that is required for a preliminary nomination is a paragraph or two about how this employee demonstrates exceptional work in the criteria for that category. The google form link has more information regarding the criteria for each of these awards and the eligibility requirements are below.

Outstanding Teacher 

Eligibility: Have completed at least three full years of teaching

Outstanding New Teacher

Eligibility: Be within the first 3 years of their teaching career

Outstanding Principal

Eligibility: Currently work as an elementary, middle, secondary or high school principal in FCPS                                               

Outstanding Leader 

Eligibility: Currently work as a full-time or part-time Schedule C or School-Based administrator who has completed at least one contracted year of employment with FCPS in this position.

Common positions in this category: Associate Principal, Assistant Principal, Director of Student Services, Director of Student Activities

Outstanding Professional Employee 

Eligibility: Have completed at least one year of contracted full-time or part-time professional employment in FCPS in their current position

Currently work as a Schedule-B employee in an FCPS school or center, or in a non-instructional position that supports school leadership.

Common positions in this category: School-Based Technology Specialist, Technology Support Specialist, Assessment Coach, Career Center Specialist, Instructional Coach, Psychologist, Social Worker, Speech Pathologist School Counselor, Systems of Support Administrator, Safety and Security Specialist other employee paid as a Resource Teacher who serves in a non-instructional or administrative role in the school

Outstanding Operational Employee

Eligibility: Have completed at least one year of contracted full-time or part-time operational employment in FCPS.  Currently work on the Schedule-A, Schedule-H, or Classroom Instructional Support (CIS) Scale in an FCPS school.

Common positions in this category: Common positions in this category: administrative and office assistants, custodial staff, food service staff, IA, PHA, PHTA, all parent liaisons
