Dear Crossfield community,

Our hearts are so full. We are overjoyed and humbled by your support of the Crossfield PTO Fun Run 2021! Thanks to everyone who came yesterday to cheer on your students. Seeing our students, staff, parents and grandparents all together is what makes our Crossfield community so special! It was a day full of excitement, smiles, and lots of laughter. Our kids cheered and danced as they ran, and celebrated their "Olympic" training with gold medals and popsicles!

This vendor-free event would not be possible without the work of our parent volunteers and our amazing Crossfield staff! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped over the past 2 months with t-shirts, marketing materials, sponsorships, website maintenance, and donation tracking. Thank you to all the parents who attended yesterday to mark off laps on shirts, hand out medals and popsicles, and take class pictures! We could not do it without you. Mr. Tony "Fitness" Felt and Ms. Holly "Speedy" Sims kept us all laughing and the kids engaged with their all-day MC roles. Nobody rocks USA socks and sweatbands better! Mrs. Heather Baucum, our librarian, produced all our awesome promotion videos, delivered regular updates to all students on the WCES morning news, and documented the event yesterday with videos and photos. Mr. Granieri and Ms. Fant hit their 10,000 steps by lunchtime as they ran together with every grade level team. Our teachers and staff members all came to cheer, dance, run and one even joined the fun in her pink flamingo costume!

This event is a great fundraiser, but more importantly, it brings every part of our school together in celebration of our awesome Crossfield Community! Take a look at some highlights from yesterday's Fun Run . (Special thanks to Mr. Talotta for this!) We are grateful for every donation, and the campaign will remain open through this weekend at CrossfieldFunRun.org.  With heartfelt thanks for your unbelievable support, The Crossfield PTO Board

Attendance Form

Online Attendance Form

Do you have an early release, change in dismissal, late arrival or absence to report?

The preferred method for reporting any change in your student's school day is the Online Attendance Form located on the Crossfield website.  Scroll down to the blue ATTENDANCE box shown here and follow the prompts.  If you have a change in dismissal, select "early release" and provide an explanation in the "reason for absence".  This is the preferred method because this information is emailed to all of the front office employees.

Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid

This week or next week you should receive a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid.  All students are required to return the form to their child's teacher.

Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the boxes in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by November 5. All results are confidential

More information is available here.

Are you needing assistance with your child's picture taken on picture day?

If you are experiencing difficulties with your child's picture day order, please contact Lifetouch Customer Service at 1-800-736-4753.  Thank you.

Should My Child Come to School?

Parents: Please use this Questionnaire to determine if your child should come to school on any given day. If your child is at school and displays Covid-like symptoms, they may be sent to the Care Room and required to be picked up.

Parent/Guardian Access to Family Life Education Lessons in Schoology

The FLE lessons are available for you to review in the parent course in Schoology.

If you wish to opt your child out of all or part of the FLE program, please complete the opt out form included in this link and return the form to school prior to FLE instruction. Link to Opt Out Forms

Lost and Found

If your child has missplaced or lost a personal item, please encourage them to check the Lost and Found located in the cafeteria.
