2.  Outstanding Employee Awards

Nominations are now open for the Outstanding Employee Awards! To submit a nomination for a Chantilly High School Outstanding Employee in one of the categories, please complete the nomination through this Google form link: https://forms.gle/zQ62paQcoHCghasZ8  You may nominate one employee at our school or multiple employees (you may only nominate one employee per category.)

All that is required for a preliminary nomination is a sentence or two about how this employee demonstrates exceptional work in the criteria for that category.  Click here for more information.

The deadline to submit a nomination is November 19.

4.  Recognitions

Congratulations to the Varsity Cheerleading Squad for winning the Concorde District Championship last week at South Lakes.  Chantilly finished with a score of 259, second place Centreville finished with a 245.5.  Congratulations to the Coaches and the team.  They will compete on Saturday in the Northern Region Meet at Centreville. Varsity Cheerleading Squad - Concorde District Champions

The JV Cheerleading Squad competed in an Invitational at Yorktown HS on Saturday and finished in 2nd place out of 9 teams!  Congrats to the team.

Kudos to our Secondary Transition to Employment Program (STEP) which was recently featured in the news.  See video link.   

Congratulations to our Mighty Marching Chargers on TWO-rrific performances at our final home game Friday and the VBODA State Marching Assessment on Saturday!  On Saturday, the MMCs earned Superior Ratings.  This places our entire program in the position to earn recognition this year as a “Virginia Honor Band.”  Please enjoy the video links below of these TWO-rrific performances!

The Varsity Volleyball Team won the District Championship!!  They beat Oakton last night in 3 sets (3-0) to remain undefeated in the District this year and take home the Championship.  Congratulations to the coaches and team.  They will play at HOME on Wednesday vs. Washington-Liberty in the 1st Round of the Region Tournament at 7:00.

Varsity Volleyball Team - Concorde District Champions!

Cross Country competed in the District Meet yesterday at Burke Lake.  The Boys team finished 4th and the Girls team finished 3rd.  The teams will compete in the Region Meet on Wednesday Nov. 3rd at Burke Lake.  Click here for results.  


5.  Recent Student Successes

This is the next installment for the school year of what has become a weekly segment aimed at recognizing students for demonstrating recent improvement or achievement in academics, behavior or citizenship. At the end of each recognition, you will see the name of the nominating teacher or staff member. On a rotating basis, departments will nominate students.  I plan to meet with recognized students each week to congratulate them in person.

  • Abigail (Abby) Buchannon has worked so hard over the last few years to become a better advocate for herself in math and science. She works so hard and I love seeing how far she's progressed. Keep up the great work, Abby!  Mr. Corey Porter
  • Kevin Grijalva Morataya is always so willing to complete classwork and is very respectful. He has worked really hard to get his work completed.  Ms. Anne Fenton
  • Oscar Lino Medrano is a kind, perceptive, and motivated student. He is an excellent model for the other students in class. He approaches his schoolwork with maturity and patience. Ms. Dillon and I are so lucky to be his science teachers!  Ms. Anne Crismon
  • Jack Morgan is an excellent scientist. He crushed the most recent unit test on biochemistry and consistently demonstrates a deep understanding of course material. He is well respected among his peers and is a fantastic addition to our class. Keep up the great work Jack!  Ms. Nicole Abba
  • Anabel Moya-Cardozo, the kindness you show to your peers is no less than remarkable. You have a positive outlook and I love your enthusiasm for learning about the ocean and the planet we live on.  Ms. Michele Gates
  • Hannah Nguyen’s persistent and hardworking abilities will help her succeed in school. Her creativity shows through her effective planning and beautiful artwork. Ms. Christine Choi
  • Daniel Osteguin truly embodies the spirit of AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) with persistence, grit, and determination! He takes all of the ideas we develop in this class and applies them consistently to his academic classes! From focused notetaking to generating great tutorial questions, Daniel is an active and engaged member of this inaugural class of students destined for college success!  Ms. Karen Molloy
  • Despite the challenges of returning to school, Jeffrey Schneider has shown resilience and dedication to his studies to become a key part of our class. He contributes frequently to class discussions and is always willing to help his peers. In addition, he has achieved perfect scores on the last two assessments!  Ms. Whitney Faries
