Make-up Photo Day

Make-up Photo Day at Liberty Middle School, is this Friday, October 22. It is for students who were absent on photo day, new to the school, or who are not happy with their original package (students are required to bring their original photo package to the photographer on October 22) in order to be able to take a retake.

Volunteer Opportunity for Vision and Hearing Screening

October has been a busy and productive month. School counselors have visited classrooms, new gardens were planted, student photos were sent home, students enjoyed playing with games and sports equipment during Student Break Time, students started their campaigns for SCA leadership roles, every student received student planner assignment book, and a second tent was added to our courtyard. October 25- October 28 we will have vision and hearing screenings for 7th grade students. We are looking for adult family volunteers to help with our screenings. Three volunteers are needed for each day. If you are able to volunteer, please sign up here.  Thank you for your support.

Virtual Workshops: Exploring College and Career Options

Middle school is a great time for students and parents to start exploring options for the future.  As part of Virtual College Week this week, FCPS is offering a variety of virtual workshops.  One of the sessions that would be of interest for this age group would be “Exploring Naviance Student”, as well as several others that may help start a conversation about the college and career exploration process.  Please click on the Schedule of Events to learn about the sessions.  All sessions will be recorded and posted on the College Week Google site if you are unable to attend in person.

Water Bottles for Hydration Station!

As a friendly reminder, Liberty Middle School Water Fountains have converted to Hydration Stations to fill up water bottles. We ask that you provide your student with a water bottle to school to have use of our Hydration Station throughout the day. The front office will no longer be supplying disposable water bottles as we get further into the school year. Thank you!

We'd like to share some resources on changes that may be taking place at home and school this year. Here is an article from the New York Times Parenting Newsletter to help support students social and emotional learning as we still make strides in returning to in-person learning this year.
