FH Weekly Update - 10/17/21

1

Dear Freedom Hill Community,

We had another busy week of learning! It was great to see many families at our PTA meeting earlier this week. We are so grateful for our supportive PTA Board and all the parent volunteers. Our school and community partnership is one of the things that makes Freedom Hill a great place! And speaking of which, we are still in need of families to sign up to assist with our outdoor lunches!

On Friday, October 29, we will have an optional Book Character School Spirit day, which is the culminating day of our Harvest Spirit Week (see below).  Students may dress up as their favorite book character. If your child chooses to participate in this spirit day, please ensure that they have a school appropriate costume- including no weapons or full face masks. Protective masks covering the mouth/nose are still required.  Hats will be allowed but many not fully cover the head and face.  Students will be dismissed two hours early at 2:05 that day.

Teachers will be meeting with parents as the quarter ends to discuss each student's progress and goals for the remainder of the year. Many teachers have already begun their first quarter conferences/family check ins.

We hope to see you at Spooky Movie Fun Night on Friday!

In partnership,

Nicholas Zapadka, Principal

Eric Kopacz, Assistant Principal

This meeting will focus mostly on the process to apply for level IV AAP services (full time) for the 2022-23 school year and is intended for parents of 2nd-6th grade students. All are welcome!

If you would like more general information about AAP services, you can watch the video from the earlier Zoom session (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q42d_XFeOLI) or email me with any questions (TLfredericks@fcps.edu).  Also, please check out the AAP folder on Schoology.  There are links to forms, AAP details, slideshows, videos, and more.
