Dear Spring Hill Families,    

     As we move into mid-October, we continue to build and adjust routines while learning and having fun. There are several exciting upcoming events at Spring Hill including Fall Book Fair and the Fall Festival Parade. It is so wonderful to be able to continue the joy of learning while maintaining safety protocols. 

     We know there is a large amount of information in this Friday Message. We appreciate you taking the time to read it and learn about all of the fabulous fall activities.

Late Arrivals/Early Dismissal

Just a few reminders when arriving late or picking up early a student:

  • Masks are required in all FCPS buildings
  • Children that are arriving late need to be checked in by the parent/guardian
  • Anyone picking a child up from the school needs an ID and must be listed on the student's Emergency Care form. This form may be updated online. The directions are below:
  • Updating Emergency Care Information 
    • Login to SIS ParentVUE Account  
    • Click on FCPS Links button 
    • Click on the weCare @ school link    
    • A list of your child(ren) will appear 
    • Click on the child’s name and click continue on each page 
    • OR 
    • Click on the plus sign beside the child’s name to get a list of the forms 
    • After the form has been updated and saved, click Send the Form beside each child’s name where information has been updated

If you would like to volunteer during lunch, please use this link to sign up. We have 2 slots per lunch session. 


Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid

The Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid will be sent home early next week.

Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's homeroom teacher. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the boxes in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by November 5. All results are confidential

Fall Festival

Fall Festival

When: October 29, 9:10 - 10:10 AM

Where: Spring Hill P.E. Field

Students and parents will be outside, and students will parade by grade level. Our very own Spring Hill elementary band will be leading the parade!

Parking: Please be respectful of our community members and their private property when parking. Park across from the school in the Rec center parking lot.

The 2021 PTO Book Fair "Panthers on the Prowl for the Purrrfect Book" is NEXT WEEK, Monday, October 18 - Friday, October 22, in the SHE Gymnasium. Visit the Book Fair site for detailed information on the hours and weekly schedule, Family Shopping Night and other Book Fair FAQ's.

It's still not too late to volunteer. Visit the Book Fair Sign-Up Genius to sign up for a shift.

Registration for Outside School Activities (OSA's) is OPEN!

The PTO is proud to offer a variety of outside school enrichment programs taught by our talented Spring Hill teachers, held before and after school. Check out our Fall/Winter 2021 offerings and register today on our website. Registration ends Tuesday, October 19th.
