Federal Impact Aid Survey

In the coming days, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid.

Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

The Federal Impact Aid forms will be coming home in your child's October 20 VIP folder. For each school-aged child in your household who attends Churchill Road, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey back to our school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in section 3.  All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by November 5. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.

Thank you for your support.

Toothbrush Drive Returns!

Everything starts with a smile!  Smiles for Miles is an organization that was founded by kids, is run by kids, and benefits kids.  Through philanthropy in schools, we raise toothbrushes locally and provide them to kids globally.  We created a process to unlock donations in schools using technology, marketing, and fun. In partnership with Medico (www.medico.org), Smiles for Miles distributes the toothbrushes to Central America and provides pictures for the donating school.  Just like many others, the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to stop collecting in 2020. Now that things have begun to recover, we are back into business and are excited to do what we love most: raise toothbrushes!

In previous years our drives at Churchill collected over 400 toothbrushes. This year the drive runs from Monday October 25th until Friday October 29th. Let's top that number!  Look for the blue bin in the front lobby.

Unity Day is October 20 - Wear Orange

Churchill Road School Counselors invite students to wear orange on October 20th for Unity Day.  Staff and students will WEAR AND SHARE ORANGE to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion and to send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying. So, encourage your little one to wear an orange piece of clothing or item to show their kindness on October 20th.

Upcoming Shows at the Alden Theater

The Okee Dokee Brothers

Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 16–17, 1 p.m. & 4 p.m.

$20/$15 MCC district residents

As the GRAMMY-winning Okee Dokee Brothers, Justin Lansing and Joe Mailander have built a plaid-shirted national following with their outdoor adventure-themed albums, “Can You Canoe?,” “Through The Woods,” “Saddle Up” and “Winterland.” But whether it's indoors or out, the Okee Dokee Brothers believe that as long as folks are singing together there’s a glimpse of hope for our world. They’ll share old favorites as well as brand new tunes from their latest album, “Songs for Singin'.” “So sing to the sunrise and sing to the moon,” the Brothers say. “Sing with your kids and sing with your neighbors. Sometimes it just takes singing a song with one another to remind us that we’re all family.” Running time: 60 minutes.
