SR&R Reminder - Forms Still Needed!
Due October 29
SR&R policies and procedures have been reviewed with students. At this time, we are still missing several signed SR&R Parent Signature sheets from several students, and need a signed form for each student.
FCPS’ updated Student Rights & Responsibility booklet is now available online and in the ParentVue section of the Student Information System (SIS). The SR&R booklet explains expectations for student behavior, and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable, and supportive school environment.
Each year, we ask parents to review, sign, and return the SR&R to their child’s school. There are two ways for parents to acknowledge that you have received the document:

In ParentVue, you may now download and digitally sign the SR&R. Every parent/guardian with a ParentVUE account will see the SR&R upon login to ParentVUE until the SR&R acknowledgement has been completed. E-signing for one child will suffice for all siblings within the household. Your name in the digital signature box must match the parent/guardian’s first and last name in SIS exactly before the signature will be accepted.
- Download and sign the Parent Signature Sheet and please return the signed signature sheet to your child's teacher.
Signatures are due by October 29, 2021

Digital Citizenship Week
October 18-22
We’re taking part in #FCPSDigCit Week! We’ll have daily activities to help students think about how technology affects their lives. Plus how they can use tech to have a positive impact in the lives of others.
Learning never stops, and neither do our digital lives. This #FCPSDigCit Week we are teaching daily activities from Common Sense Education and helping our students:
- Reflect on how they find media balance.
- Make responsible decisions.
- Treat themselves and others with kindness.
In the Kings Glen Parents Schoology Course, you will find daily conversation starters to help your kids talk about their digital lives. Check them out! (Use your SIS parent account credentials to login). Please email KGNotes@fcps.edu if you need help setting up or accessing your account.
LBSS Socktober
October 25-29
The Lake Braddock pyramid is participating in Socktober and will be collecting new socks October 25-29 that will be donated to local homeless shelters. Please consider donating new men’s, women’s, and/or youth socks! We will be having a Kings Glen Crazy Sock Day on Wednesday, October 27.

Screen for Illness Every Day, Stay Home When Sick
As a reminder, any student who is ill or has COVID-like symptoms should remain at home. The daily health screening questionnaire and all translated versions can be found on our Health and Safety Guidance webpage. Daily completion of the health screening is done on an honor basis and does not need to be sent to the school.

The PTA is hosting a Pumpkin Decorating Contest! See our website for additional details, some of which are coming soon. There will be different categories and prizes. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Winter Clothing Donation Drive
The PTA will be collecting winter clothing items needed for our school families on Friday 10/22 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Kings Park, concurrent with the Fall Family Photo Shoot.
Items needed include:
- NEW or GENTLY USED winter coats--Boys Small (size 5-6), Medium (size 8-10), Large (size 10-12) and Girls Medium (size 8-10)
- NEW winter hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves
- NEW socks (adult sizes preferred, kids ok too) for Socktober
