Principal's Message: 10/9/2021

Good Afternoon Parents and Families:

We completed our first week in October with a fun spirit week, in which many students and staff participated in as we kicked off our first week of after school activities. This is a reminder that all students must be registered and signed up prior to staying after school. More information can be found below.

I want to thank you for your continued support as we partner together to ensure the health and safety of all of our students and staff. While you received a message from me earlier this week and students have heard from me several times on the announcements, I ask you to continue to have conversations with your child(ren) surrounding the importance of our school-wide expectations

Throughout the rest of this month, as part of our 4th period Panther Block lessons, the focus will be on kindness, empathy and the importance of digital citizenship. Students will receive additional information and support on how to best navigate technology and digital resources in a responsible and respectful manner. There are so many ways we can utilize our technology tools to promote positive messages, as well as to enhance an overall meaningful learning experience. However, it takes a collective effort from our students, staff and families to have discussions related to the successes and challenges that exist as a result of increased technology and overall social media access.

To that end, please find some overall information surrounding digital citizenship, as well as Social Media Best Practices for Students.  I am so proud of the many acts of kindness and empathy I witness each day from our students. Yet I know this is something we need to continue to highlight and encourage to promote and ensure a positive learning environment each day. In the coming weeks, we will not only present opportunities for our students to learn more about overall digital citizenship, but we will also have a forum for parents and families to engage in learning surrounding this very important topic.  Please continue to reach out if you have any questions, concerns or feedback.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.  I hope you and your families enjoy the weekend.
