Principal's Message

Dear Shrevewood Families,

Many of you already know that we have had an increase in positive COVID cases in the last two weeks here at Shrevewood. Katie and I have been working extremely hard to answer your questions and provide you with the information that you need. We continue to evaluate our practices here and adjust as we gather feedback from our community and our teachers. At this time, we are not seeing specific trends with the data. The cases here in the last two weeks have been sporadic.

Below you will find some helpful links that will provide you with the answers to many of your frequently asked questions:

Pause, Quarantine, and Contact Tracing

We wanted to also give you some updates on some of the adjustments that we have made specifically to Shrevewood’s COVID safety protocols:

  • Suggesting that students wear mask while at recess
  • Change in cafeteria seating to ensure at least 6 feet between all students
  • Teachers are only pulling 3 students at a time for small group instruction
  • Students are spaced at least 3 feet apart on the carpet, and the whole class is not on the carpet at one time

In closing, with the increase in cases in our school and community, we are asking our families to be mindful of the safety mitigation strategies that you are practicing at home in order to keep your children safe. This is a community effort to keep our students in school. On Tuesday at our virtual PTA meeting, we will provide additional details and information, and also have time for you to ask any other questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Joshua DeSmyter, Principal

Katie Vandawalker, Assistant Principal
