Robert Weiss, PhD., MSW, from Psychology Today writes “What happens when SAD occurs in conjunction with other forms of depression, especially the situational depression we’re currently seeing related to the COVID-19 pandemic, political strife, and other major societal issues?” This is uncharted territory and self-care is more important than ever. What are the options?

FCPS Laptop Information
Please encourage your student to fully charge their FCPS laptop every night and use this laptop daily in school. FCPS student laptops are sent weekly updates and are forced to restart to receive the updates. A FCPS laptop that is not frequently used may be several updates and forced restarts behind and may experience issues when it is used again. Any student that is experiencing an issue with an FCPS laptop or application can find more information on support here.

2021 World Languages Credit Exam
The 2021 World Languages Credit Exam will be administered on November 16 (Robinson SS), 17 (Centreville HS), and 18 (Edison HS). Thirty languages will be included: American Sign Language, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Mandarin), Farsi, French, German, Greek*, Hebrew*, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Nepali, Pashto, Portuguese*, Punjabi, Russian, Sanskrit, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Telugu, Tigrinya, Turkish*, Twi, Urdu, and Vietnamese. *Greek, Hebrew, Portuguese and Turkish will be offered by the Writing Proficiency Test by Language Testing International.

Please have your student see their school counselor to register for these exams. Registration closes on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 3 p.m. Late registrations will not be accepted.
Weekly Progress Reports
Please sign up for Weekly Progress Reports via SIS ParentVUE. All parents/guardians of MS and HS students who have registered for a SIS ParentVUE Account and have a primary email address recorded in SIS ParentVUE can receive Weekly Progress Reports via email. This report provides a summary of your student(s) grades for the current quarter.
To activate the Weekly Progress Reports via email, login to your SIS ParentVUE Account and first verify that you have a primary email address within the system. It is listed under the “My Account” tab. If it is blank, enter the email address where you would like to receive the progress reports and click on update account. Once confirmed, parents/guardians are able to activate and select their preferences for receiving these reports within the SIS ParentVUE “My Account” tab. Weekly progress reports for all of your middle and high school students will be included in one email. Please see this site with questions and troubleshooting tips.
Class of 2023
Don’t miss out! There is still time to get a Homecoming T-shirt. We can no longer guarantee t-shirt sizes, but will make every effort to accommodate requests. To receive a shirt, go to MySchoolBucks and pay your junior class activity fee.

Class of 2024 | Virtual Forum
On Monday, October 4th, at 7PM, join your 2024 class administrator and parent team as we present an overview of sophomore year, and answer your frequently asked questions. Access the link here.
